    Hi all,
    Would anyone please tell me what this phrasal verb means?

    She took me in by her story!

    Not necessarily. It means that she made you believe her story, even though it wasn´t true.

    I would use 'I was taken in by her story' or 'She took me in with her story'.

    I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.
