Could you suggest me...?
Hi eveybody,
I'd like to know how to tell someone to trade something... for example...if I meet a person and I want to give him/her my phone number and I want to get his/her number too, how could I say? Could you suggest me some correct expressions? Do I have to use some particular phrasal verbs?
Moreover, could you suggest me some links where I can find some examples of typical conversation among people?
Thanks in advice.

Re: Could you suggest me...?
Why do you regard this as a "trade"? Perhaps you mean "exchange".
"I would like to exchange 'phone numbers. Mine is 000..."
"Hey, let's exchange numbers - mine is XXXX; what is yours?"

Re: Could you suggest me...?
Thank you so much for the answer.
But what's difference between "to trade" and "to exchange" and between "to trade a number" and "to exchange a number", "to trade a picture" and "to exchange a picture"?

Re: Could you suggest me...?
If you "trade" something, it implies there is a profit of some kind.
"He trades shares on the Stock Exchange"
"The trade in shoes is excellent"
"I'll trade you this paperclip for that pencil"
If you "exchange" something, you are transferring [two] things without profit.
"They exchanged presents at Christmas time"
"We can exchange that dress if it does not fit you"
"I'll exchange this pencil for that biro"

Another way of doing it is just to start the exchange yourself: 'Here's my card. Do you have one?' Or make it even less direct: 'Let me give you my card...' [This assumes that you have a card - although you can use the second version even without one - grope in your pockets for a few seconds before muttering 'Left them in my other suit.... Here, let me scribble on this napkin.'
