Default phrasal verbs

What is, in your opinion, the best way to learn phrasal and prepositional verbs? And, how can we distinguish ,for instance, which can be separated from the preposition or not with a pronoun or an object? I am completely lost!
Thanks.

The best way to learn words is to give them a context. Have a monolingual dictionary and write down some sentences. This will help you to know the contexts and which grammatical construction the words require.

The first step is always the hardest - but don't give up.

Have a go!

Our phrasal verb list will tell you whether a verb is separable or not. However, you needn't worry too much about making mistakes with this; it will rarely cause a misunderstanding in speech and you can always check when writing.
