like :
I'll get married (by a priest). Get is sometimes used instead of 'be' to form the passive.
Before I Get Old . Yes, here get means become or start to be.

here it mean like become or what ?
Some more examples:
He gets really upset if you mention his baldness.
Is your cold getting any better?
Your coffee's getting cold.
After a while you get used to all the noise.

Are these comments right ?Yes. 3 out of 4. You are getting better!
And when can I use [get] instead of [become]or [be] ? Use get if you want to sound informal but be careful as get does not always work as in:
I became aware of...not I got aware of...
Also I never heard anybody say "I want to become rich" but I want to get rich". Try to listen to what and how native speakers use "get", if you get the chance. Otherwise there is no rule, I am afraid.
I'll get married (by a priest)
Here can I use be instead of get ?if No , can you explain it ^^"I think "get married" is a fixed expression. It is the way people use it.
and why did you add [Will] ? isn`t right if I say : I get married by a priest ? ^^"++ I get married means that you do it repeatedly/regularly. That is simply not possible.
Sorry if I bothered you ^^"You never do.

NOT A TEACHER

The use of be conveys a sense of state, while the use of get means a change of state.

True, but in sentences like:
I was caught,
I was fired,
I was hit,
He was killed.
I was married by a priest.
"be" conveys also a change of state.

I was talking about the examples by GLOSS:

[get + adjective] = change of state
I got married at the age 34.
I get extremely tired every time I run on the treadmill.

[be + adjective] = state
I am married to an Englishwoman.
I am extremely tired; I have been running on the treadmill.

In your examples it's informal to use get in place of be. It's shear passive voice, actually.

Hi, Gloss!
You are welcome!
What do you mean by "in fifth example"?It is a difference between:
I was married=I got married. It is passive form. And:
I am married. It is not passive form.

"Get" can be used instead of "be" in the passive.

Cheers

thank you very much =")
This answer solved that problem in my head^^

what I meant before that : can we use [get , here I meant got but I write get as public form ^^"] in fifth example for passive form ?
Now I understand .
Quote:
I was married=I got married. It is passive form.
This sentence helped me ^^
