Question How can you understand "go on"

Dear all.

I 've seen "go on" in the "My heart will go on" song.

But I havn't be able to understand this go on phrase.

Every night in my dreams
I see you. I feel you.
That is how I know you go on.

Far across the distance
And spaces between us
You have come to show you go on.

Near, far, wherever you are
I believe that the heart does go on
Once more you open the door
And you're here in my heart
And my heart will go on and on

--------------
If someone know, please help me.
I'm expecting for your reply
Your sincerely

In this case "go on" just means "to live eternally" ... as in the beliefs of Buddhism, for example, the soul or spirit can "go on" after the body dies. In the song the meaning is basically the same.
