work out
Can I use this verb in this kind of situations: 'And how does it work out for everyone? (Here I want to ask: how can you apply this idea for them?' ; 'Actually, it doesn't work out for them. (I want to say that something has a different effect on those people)'

The positive question is fine, because it allows for A [typo] range of outcomes, from 'very badly' to 'very well'; the negative question needs an extra word or phrase to describe the outcome.
