Hi,

Which parts of speech "that" can be?

He has done that work.

Over here what is that?

In your example sentence, "that" is a demonstrative adjective.

I like that. - In this sentence "that" is a demonstrative pronoun - object pronoun.

"That" can be afew things. "That" is a conjuntion, as well. "That" can't be a noun, but that can be a pronoun - a demonstrative pronoun.

That can be used for adjective clauses and noun clauses.

That can be used in expressions, such as "that's that" or "that about does it".
