1.what is the difference between said and told?which is more apt? and please explain why?
I said not to repeat it.
I told not to repeat it.

2.Is it's and its the same?If so,which is more often used.?

3.I have joined for a short term course.i want to know for how many days classes will be there.Is it right to ask what is the duration of the course?

4.Is it correct to say 'A person has big stomach' ( who has a projected stomach with full of fat.)

please correct,if there are any mistakes

Say-Express in words. a statement.
Tell- to make known.
I told him not to repeat it . You made it known that he should not repeat it.
It's-Contraction of It is and it has.
It's raining.-It is raining.
It's been said.-It has been said.
Its-possessive pronoun.
Hockey has lost its glory in India.
I have joined a short term course. What is the duration of the course?
Pot belly.This word is commonly used here.

I was told (by you) not to repeat it.

Note,
I say (that) ...
I told you (that) ...
______________

It's is a contraction of it is and it has.
Ex: It's nice ~ It is nice.
Ex: It's been nice ~ It has been nice.
Its is a possessive pronoun (e.g., his, her, etc.).
Ex: Give the dog its bone.
______________

What is the duration of the course?

______________

A person has a big stomach.

He told me he bought a new car.

He said it was too hot.
He told me it was too hot.

She said the class should turn in their homework Monday morning.
She told the class to turn in their homework Monday morning.

Tell and say can also work like this:

Ex: He told it. <He gave the information>
Ex: He said it. <He uttered the words>

Yes, but you would most likely see (or hear):
He told it to somebody.
He told his story.
He told a story.
He told a lie.
He told it to me.
He told it to me in confidence.
He told me a secret.
There are many other possibilities.

TELL:Express in words

ex:Tell me what is bothering you

SAY:Express a supposition

ex: Let us say that he did not tell the truth"; "Let's say you had a lot of money--what would you do
