Default How to improve English in a non english speaking country

Hello there,
I'm not a native English speaker but I have a smattering of the language and as a matter of fact, I can speak simple English .
The problem is that I'm now living in a non english speaking country and at the same time learning its language. I notice that the new language has somehow jeopardised my English. Hence,I'm wondering if there's any suggestion for keeping or developing my English skills while living in that country?
I do have another problem which is I tend to forget all the grammar when I'm anxious.I couldn't make a correct sentence when I'm nervous.Do you have any remedy for this kind of problem?

Thanks in advance.

The younger you are, the easier it is. But when you're older, it's tough! It happened to me: I learned fluent Spanish, then married an Italian. I got so confused, learning the new language, that now (not living with either on a daily basis) my language while visiting Spain/Mexico or Italy is quite laughable. But - they all understand me, so, hey! that's the point, eh?

It will come back to you when you immerse yourself in one language or the other, later. Meanwhile, take full opportunity of being able to learn a new language while you are there!

As greenfin1's only other post was a plug for this site, I hesitate to regard his/her advice as unbiased; 0.02 post a day - that's what I call a valued member of the community. Buyer beware.

well in my opinion there's many ways that you could do to improve your english. From the basics thing just like watching english movies without subtitles, reading magazine or novel that using english ( I recommend you to read novel, because novel usually used complex and harder english to use than just a magazine that usually keep it casual and easy to understand ). So you live in a non english speaking country ? the same with me then. You can go to an english course maybe, I think there's plenty of place like that. Because I join an english course also to fixed and enrich my grammatical structure. Do you like to listen to the music ? well if you do, then just listen to songs that pronounced english clearly. maybe it will help you. You'll find out how this usingenglish.com useful for your english progress. almost forgot you can fix your english by messenger? why don't you chat someone who fluent with it. Or just use the Social Networking Sites ? maybe it will be fun. well all of them just a suggestion from me. it's up to you. good luck.

Listen the commentary of your favourite sports and also see the english movie tha you like most. If you can't do both then get admission to IELTS in your own country.
