Please can someone tell me what is the Flesch-Kincaid scale/grade levels.

What is considered a good score for general novel? Apparently, something like John Irving's book has a rather high F-C grade level (11th grade), but Hemingway or Mark Twain pretty low (8th grade?)

It's an oversimplistic view to extend it to literary worth; Hemingway is celebrated for his style, which is marked by its lexical simplicity.
