"He is not smart as / like you"
In my non-native sense and my mother language's influence, I think that the meaning of the sentence has three meanings, depening on contexts.
So, "you" here is not smart as well as "he".
Only "you" are smart here but "he" is not smart.
Or "he is smart but a little bit different way from "you" being smart.
Or native English speakers understand the sentence in the same way or it can be understood that ways in certain contexts?
