A quick 'hello' really

Hello,

I've just signed up to do a PGDE in ESOL. I have a degree in English Language and Literature and I also completed CELTA.

I'm joining up here before my course starts as I'm so very nervous about it all and I really need to brush up on my grammar. To be honest, I've found lots of areas I know nothing about and I panic about it. So, really I'm here for support along the way. I hope this is ok and that I'm in the right place!

You'll be just fine. Don't worry about the areas you know nothing about. I'm sure over the time they will teach you everything. Isn’t why we continue our education? To learn something new and enrich the existing knowledge.

Ahhh...thank you! I didn't sign up to the alerts, so sorry for the extremely late reply!

So far, so good I think! I find it really strange (and intriguing) how we can use a language without consciously knowing any of the rules.
It's taking time but I think (hope) I understand more grammar than I did 14 weeks ago!

It's just a learning curve and down to experience I think (and I'm being impatient)

It's a good idea to have some strategies ready for when people ask you things that you don't know the answer for- and there will be usage questions that may throw you because you've never really thought about or noticed something.
