Thumbs up Re: Tesol Course Istanbul - sorted

I HAVE HAD A PROMISING RESULT TO MY COMPLAINT OVER THE VIA LINGUA COURSE AT KENT ENGLISH SCHOOL ISTANBUL.

THE DIRECTOR VIA LINGUA HAS BEEN IN CONTACT AND INVESTIGATED MY COMPLAINT. I TOLD HIM I DISAGREED WITH SOME OF THING HE HAD BEEN TOLD BY THE SCHOOL. ONE THING HE WAS TOLD BY THE SCHOOL WAS THAT I WAS SHOWN MY FAILURE GRAMMAR EXAMINATION PAPER AND I TOLD HIM THIS WAS NOT TRUE. WHEN WE ASKED TO SEE OUR FAILURE PAPERS WE WERE TOLD THIS WAS A CONFIDENTIAL DOCUMENT AND NOT TO BE SEEN BY ANYONE AFTER THE EXAM

HOWEVER VIA LINGUA HAVE AGREED TO LET ME TAKE THE GRAMMAR EXAM AT ANOTHER VENUE AND MARKED IN AN UBIAS WAY AND WHEN I WANT. I AM HAPPY WITH THIS.

Omg that sounds terrible. Please update and let us know how it goes. I myself am contemplating on taking a TEFL course in Via Lingua Istanbul. A bit aprehensive now.

Anyone knows where is the best school to take TEFL course at, in Istanbul East side? I will be staying with friends there so location has to be around that area.

Ironpetal, please update us! :) Btw were you studying in Cactus or Via Lingua?

There's an active forum section on Turkey in ELT World. David, who runs that site works there so should probably be able to help.

The saddest thing is that after all the money and time you have wasted you have an almost worthless piece of paper. The Via Lingua piece of paper is only accepted by Via Lingua mills. You should have done a CELTA and at least it would have had some limited value. There have been horror stories on Dave's for years about Via Lingua.
