How many hours is that all in all?
You mean it´s better for me to take up
TESL/
TEFL than
CELTA.
What´s the difference anyway?

Re: Celta
That's full-time and intensive- a full day's class and teaching practice, plus homework in the evenings.
TESL/TEFL are general terms and do not refer to specific recognised courses; many places offer their own TEFL or TESL Certificate. I would recommend the CELTA because it is the most widely recognised qualification; you can get work almost anywhere with it.

Re: Celta
My day started at 10 and finished at 5. But then I had to prepare my classes. 2 a week if I remember right. So, add as many hours as you want to your day.
See if you can find an 'ESL teaching ideas book' to help you. You'll need it!

I wonder if there are any here in the Philippines. I haven't seen one institute yet.

Re: Celta
I haven't found one. Have you seen this : Teaching Knowledge Test

Re: Celta
The TKT isn't appropriate to your needs: It's entirely theoretical and even the soon to be introduced language knowledge module has no direct bearing on practical teaching. TKT's audience is difficult to define but it's not that useful as an initial TEFL qualification.
As to CELTA in the Philippines, The British Council should be able to advise you their number is 00 632 914 1011 Ext: 141

* Thanks Richard, Horsa!
I'll try to give them a ring later, I hope I could get some good news.
