Question a question about teaching

I am learning to become a teacher. I am trying to find out where I can go online for information on assessing students levels and styles. I guess I need to ask questions but what type of questions are best. I really don't know where to look. Any help would be appreciated. thankyou

When it comes to need analysis questionnaire you basically want to have some questions to establish who is in the classroom, what their expectations for the course are and mostly you want to get a good idea of their level of English. Self-assessment questions such as How well do you… or how do you rate your English and so on…are best avoided as they are notoriously unreliable because most people find it very difficult to judge their own ability in a foreign language. Far better is for you to use a few "open questions" so that you can judge - objectively - their ability.
