I would like to know why Archie said the next sentence.
Better bring the mop back.

It appears that the character in the green t-shirt has eaten the food from the floor and is about to vomit. Thus, the mop will be needed again.
What bad taste (no pun intended.)

I'm totally wrong. See following posts.

I completely disagree.

In the 1st panel, the old guy says the mess has been cleaned up already.

I assume that the mess wasn't vomit -- they bumped and dropped their trays.

The guy in the green shirt is crying because by dropping the food, they wasted it. And he can't bear to see good food wasted. The new mess to clean up is the puddle on the floor from him crying.

Yes, Jughead (the character in the green shirt) is a huge eater. It would make him so sad that food was wasted that he would cry so hard it would make a puddle to be mopped up.

I've never read Archie but isn't it mainstream and clean? From what I know of it I can't imagine anyone in it eating vomit. That's something more likely to happen in comix. :-D

I yield to freezeframe and Barb. My comment should be disregarded. I had asked myself why a popular comic strip would print such a tasteless "joke."
