1. Take turns doing something.
2. Take turns to do something.
Are they both correct? Which way I'd better take? I heard 1 is American and 2 is British, but not from a reliable reference, I just waned to confirm it.

Please see my amendments in red above. I agree with bhaisahab and 5jj that they're both fine in BrE.
 
My instinct is "take turns doing." And I'm American.
