[Grammar] a/the class president

Hello, I have a question.

T : Who would like to be (a/the) class president?
S : I think Mike can be (a/the) good class president.
T : Andrew recommended Mike as (a/the) class president. Any more candidates?
S: Tracy.
T: Good. That's enough.

Choosing articles is very difficult for me. Please give me answers! Thank you.

This is the original text. I just can't understand why the articles changed like the->a->the again. (I think the-> the-> the is correct)
 
the class president - the president of the class those people are a part of
a good class president - somebody worthy of the office
the class president - the president of the class those people are a part of
 
If you say you can't understand something you are saying that understanding it is impossible for you.

For these two sentences, changing “the” to “a” would change the meaning. Using “a” would mean there are multiple “class president” positions in the school, and Mike/others could fill any one of them. In the first sentence, using “the” creates the implied context that the question was asked to the students of the class that they could apply for the presidency of.

S : I think Mike can be a good class president.

He cannot be “the” one of an adjective like “good,” because good is not a unique quality. However, he can be “the best” or “the most practical” class president, because there is only one best or most.
