Could you please tell if "potential for change" should be understood in general sense, or if it is of "nature of consciousness"?

I'm sorry for this omission, I somehow thought that this question is a simple one. Anyway, I have edited my first post and link to the fragment is there now.
 
The phrase potential for change is in reference to psychiatric practice. If you have a psychological disorder, the aim is to make psychological changes.

It's nothing to do with the simplicity (or otherwise) of the question. It a copyright issue. Whenever you quote someone else's words, you must provide the source and author.
