I encountered the sentence on a twitch stream "because of course", but I am struggling to understand it. Could you please let me know what it means? Here is video link:

 
I would be struggling to understand it too.
 
I definitely wouldn't try to parse, analyse or make sense out of a commentary of a videogame.
 
It's an ironic and colloquial synonym for obviously. Offhand I can't think of a non-political example, so here's a political one. (If another moderator sees fit to delete it, I won't be offended.)

Conservatives oppose a woman's right to choose, because of course.
