Is this correct?

During an international sport event like the Olympics, a large number of people from different parts of the world congregate in the host country, dramatically increasing the population density in that area. These people bring with them various viruses and this can create a conducive environment for the spread of viruses and diseases, especially if sanitary measures are not observed.

@alpacinou I would not say viruses and diseases. Why? Viruses are not diseases, but they can cause diseases. I would not use both. Instead, I would choose one or the other. (You could also use pathogens.)

"Pathogen" is more of a medical term I think.
