That's not really the point. The reason we confirm that all the information in users' profiles is correct is that (specifically) the native language can help us to help you with your English. In your case, for example, we might compare a construction in English to a construction in German. We'd normally expect someone who was born in and grew up in the Philippines to have one of that country's official languages as their native language. I'm simply asking you to explain how it came about that you grew up speaking German in the Philippines.
