for me or for myself?

Hello! Forgive me for asking such an simple question.

"I generally find that what I do is effective for me/myself."

Me or myself? Which one is right? Or both? Thanks for help!
 
It's not as simple as you think.

I'd use 'me'. You'll hear 'myself' a lot in this context but I don't see a compelling reason to use the reflexive pronoun.
 
It could depend on the emphasis.
"I generally find that what I do is effective for me."
"I generally find that what I do is effective for myself, if not always for others."
 
Many speakers seem to believe that myself is a posh alternative to me or I, so you will hear it used where you'd expect a different pronoun. I wouldn't copy this- use myself when it is really necessary.
