Hello everyone,

Are these two sentences possible?

1. "How much money did you give the burglar?"
2. "How much money did you give to the burglar?"

Thank you.

We don't give money to burglars. Burglars tend to take money and other things without our knowledge.

Change burglar to mugger and it might work.

As bhai said we don't give money to burgalrs (even in Russian).

If they're frauds, it works. (as muggers).

Change 'burglar' to 'beggar' and they are both correct.

Note, however, that the first three words of your thread title are incorrect.

Muggers are not frauds; they are thugs.
