Hello,

I hope you can help me in understanding the following:

Using me and I (me/I)

I am confused about using these pronouns

For example:
  • Me want one
  • I want one
What is the difference in meaning? Are both of them correct ???

About ( me want one) is it correct to say (me wants one – adding s to the verb)????.
  • Even I , thought you are…….
  • Even I, I saw you
Are these two sentence correct ??? why not even me ( even me I, thought you are…..)???? For me I would automatically say even me not I.

I enjoy knowing me…. Why not myself ( I enjoy knowing myself ?????)

About me /About myself

Is using both correct What is the difference in meaning????

Would you please give me some examples for the correct use of (I , me & myslef)

Moreover is this sentence correct (I am confused about using these pronouns ( is using (of) instead of (about) would be correct????
( I am confused of using these pronouns).

Your help will be appreciated.

Thank you

***** ONLY A NON-TEACHER'S OPINION *****

Ebtehal,

You have asked a wonderful question. Many years ago

(according to a scholar named George O. Curme), the English

people did say things such as "Me thinks" and "Me hungreth."

But today in modern English, it is usually not a good idea to

write that kind of sentence. It is better to say "I think" and

"I am hungry" and "I want one."

The use of "me" and "myself" is very difficult -- even for us

native speakers.

(a) We use "me" as an object. An object follows a verb

(He insulted me -- object of "insulted") or object of a preposition

(He gave it to me -- object of "to").

(b) We use "myself" in many ways:

(i) I cut myself. (It is "bad" English to say "I cut me.")

(ii) I saw the accident / I myself saw the accident (it makes the

sentence "stronger").

(iii) I cooked dinner by myself (nobody helped me).

(iv) I am going to buy myself a new sweater. (Some native speakers

use "me" here, but the rule is: if you start the sentence with "I,"

then many times it is better to use "me" if you refer back to yourself.)

I am sure that some of the excellent teachers here will give you

more information and some good links.

Keep studying hard, and you will soon understand the use of these

words.
