1. I have attached a copy of my ID and address details to update my records in your bank.
2. I have attached a copy of my ID and address details for updating my records in your bank.

Would your please tell me which one is grammatically correct?

Please note that I have improved your thread title. Your original, "to/for" was not suitable as a title. Please use a good portion of the sentence you're asking us about.

Sentence 1 is correct.
Sentence 2 is incorrect.

I agree 2 is wrong. In 1 I suggest omitting the phrase "in your bank". The bank already knows it's a bank and where its records are kept.

I would like to know why “for updating” in sentence 2 is incorrect.

It might be grammatical but it's not the way that sentence should be worded. The usage is incorrect.

It's unnatural. In other words, it's not how a native speaker would put it. But it may be acceptable in the subcontinent. What do you think @Barque?

Can I say that although it is grammatical but a native speaker would’nt say “for updating” in the above sentence?

What about:
I have attached a copy of my ID and address details for the purpose of updating my records in your bank.

'To update' is simpler.
