been forced to do acts of violence. Does it mean that someone is forced to do something illegal? Like robbery , etc.
 
Yes and no. It is very specific about it being "acts of violence". That doesn't mean everything that's illegal. A robbery might involve no violence at all.

Among other examples, people who are forcibly recruited into armed gangs may be. They are given the choice of committing murder or being killed themselves.

They could be being threatened by someone. If someone said to you "Go and punch that old lady in the face or I'll kill your sister", what would you do? That's just an example.
