Hello
I believe there must be some term that means the lessening of expected emotional effect of a certain word when it is overexploited.
For example, in the current military confrontation between Russia and Ukraine, both sides, when describing mutual military attacks, describe them as "terrorist attacks", but they do it so often and so indiscriminately, that the word "terrorist" doesn't produce the intended emotional effect any longer.
"Semantic satiation" is not what I'm looking for.
