[General] How to reply someone's request in a polite way?

Hi,


I know it's sounds funny but I have problem to answer my professor's request. He wants my permit to put my presentation on university website. I don't know why he asked for my permission, because it is usual to put everyone's presentation on the web.

he sent me an email, and I need to answer him through email.


Should I reply like this:

- Sure, you don't need my permission. :?:

Or maybe:

- Sure, ......

Can I say, it's your call?
Or "it's your call" is not suitable answer in this case.

I don't know why he asked for my permission, because it is usual to put everyone's presentation on the web.

He asked because nobody has an automatic right to publish in any form the materials of others without their permission. Unless it is made specifically clear when you submit work that it may be published, then your professor's request is understandable. He may have sent you this request to protect him and the university from some form of legal action; I prefer to think it was common courtesy.

Universities take this sort of thing seriously- we regularly get emails from them asking to use something from the site. They don't publish without consent.
