This is a sentence I'm trying to write. I wonder whether us at the end of the sentence is redundant.

'What?' I cried, having not heard a word he said, because of all that noise around (us).

It may not be. The broader context can decide that. I mean the noise could be around a larger area than just your immediate surroundings.

Don't forget to make sure your titles include some/all of the exact words you're asking us about. Your title is "I didn't hear a word he said" but those words don't appear in your main sentence.

If you don't use "us" then you shouldn't use "around" in my opinion.
