My friend shows me a picture of some random guy (guy's face was cut out of the picture) doing a magic trick that he thought was funny. And wasn't amused by it and told him that I didn't get the joke. He then shows me another picture of him and another guy.

I say to him: That must be the magic trick guy in the other picture.

VS

That must be the magic trick guy from the other picture.

Are both okay here?

You could use either "from" or "in". I would probably use "in".
