Please help me correct the paragraph. Thanks!

Last Sunday afternoon, I took a walk along a river. The sun was too hot. I couldn’t stand it anymore, so I jumped into the river. The cool water made me feel comfortable. However, about ten minutes later, my legs couldn’t move. While I was sinking, I tried to shout for help. Luckily, a man walking by heard my shouting. He jumped into the river and saved me. After he made sure that I was safe, he angrily scolded me: “Don’t you see the sign ‘No Swimming’ here?” I felt very sorry and told him that I would never do it again.

First hint. The first two sentences are in the past simple. Suddenly, you used "can't" (present tense). Change it to the past simple.
