1a- India seems to win the match.

2- Tilak Varma is playing so well. He seems to be the emerging player of the tournament.
2a- Tilak Varma is playing so well. He seems the emerging player of the tournament.

In 1a I would use "that". (It seems that India will win the match.) 1b says India gives the impression that it won, but you're not certain.

In 2a I would use "very". (Tilak Varma is playing very well.) In 2b a couple of small but important words were left out.

How about India is/are likely to win the match?
