Is it correct to use "rest" in this way? Is this sentence correct and natural?

Jane invited me into her home. In the corner of her living room, a massive piano rested.

Try:

In one corner of her living room there was a huge piano.

Try:

In one corner of her living room there was a huge piano.
I already knew that. I want to see if the sentence in post 1 is correct.

Pianos don't "rest" anywhere. Reserve its use for things that weigh a lot less and for things that are only in that position temporarily. For example "Her hand rested gently on his thigh".

"In the corner of her living room" makes no sense. Aren't there four corners in her living room?

1. In the/one corner of her living room was a huge piano.
2. A huge piano sat in the/one corner of her living room.

3. In the/one corner of her living room sat a huge piano.

I think #1 and #2 are OK.
Is #3 OK, too?

4. In the/one corner of her living room stood a huge piano.

Does the above version work?
