HEllo All,

I have samll question here it might sound silly but if you could please help me with it.

Actually I am writing a leave application and would like to know which one this is correct:

1) I would like to request for leaves on 10th, 11th, 12th and 13th of August
2) I would like to request for leave on 10th, 11th, 12th and 13th of August

It should be leaves or leave

It is one continuous period of leave. So "leave."

Hi,
I'm not a teacher. But I know that after "for" you should use a noun or something in role of a noun. "leave" can be a noun.
Let's wait for teachers! ;-)

Hello all,

I have a [STRIKE]small[/STRIKE] question. [STRIKE]here[/STRIKE] It might sound silly but if you could please help me with it, I would be grateful.

Actually I am writing a leave application and would like to know which one this is correct:

1) I would like to request for leaves on 10th, 11th, 12th and 13th of August
2) I would like to request for leave on 10th, 11th, 12th and 13th of August

[STRIKE]It[/STRIKE] Should it be "leaves" or "leave"?

See above for corrections to other parts of your post.

In BE, we are more likely to ask for leave of absence.

I'm a BrE speaker and I would just say "I would like to request leave on ..."
