Hello everyone,

From the book Choose Your Story, Change Your Life by Kindra Hall.

We often have stories about what “counts” when it comes to our mental health. But what if, instead of worrying about the right way to do it, tell yourself the stories of the times you’ve gotten it right. For example, I love building Lego sets, but I thought it was a kid thing to do. Then I started buying sets for myself when- ever I bought one for the kids. During the many years of travel and stress with work, we would build Legos together all weekend long. Of course, the ability to buy a Lego set is a privilege not everyone is afforded; those things cost a small fortune. And during the pandemic when our finances were unstable, the Lego-budget didn’t make the cut. In 2021, business had picked up, but the Legos hadn’t. I found myself stressed and unable to have fun or engage in self-care. And then I was reminded of the Lego weekend stories and got back to building.

Does the bolded phrase mean that they (Kindra's family) didn't have enough money to buy new Lego sets?

Thank you.
