No sign of

I'm writing a script.
A man surprises an intruder in his house. The intruder flees. The man runs after him. Steps out of the house and looks around, but... No sign of the intruder.

Is 'no sign of' perfect to use here?

It's appropriate to use '(to be) no sign of somebody' in this context, yes.

I do have some reservations about the writing conventions and style that you're using, however. Stick to using full sentences, complete with their subjects.

If you want to stick with your original, remember two things:

1. An ellipsis has a space before the three dots and a space after them.
2. "no" should not be capitalised. The ellipsis suggests that you're omitting the words "there was".
