Old student vs Graduate of ABC School

Hi teachers,

Would you prefer to see the students you had taught calling themselves "old student" or "Graduate" when they wrote you emails?
I have two sentences here, please take a look at them:

1. Do you remember me, Prof. David?
I was a 2011 graduate of ABC School, and I had taken a photograph with you on the graduation ceremony.
I was in your social science class in 2011 but I sometimes fell alsept and late for your class.

2. Do you remember me, Prof. David?
I was an old student of ABC School, and I had taken a photograph with you on the graduation ceremony.
I was in your social science class in 2011 but I sometimes fell alsept and late for your class.

I wouldn't care whether you called yourself an old student or a graduate, but I'd be concerned about other aspects of your text.

Do you remember me, Prof. David? I was a 2011 graduate of ABC School, and I had [STRIKE]taken[/STRIKE] a photograph taken with you at the graduation ceremony. I was in your social science class in 2011 but I sometimes fell asleep and was late for your class.

I would use "former" instead of "old'.

Would "I was one of your former students." be correct?

That would be better as "I am one of your former students".

Seriously, you could be a former student without necessarily having graduated.
