Is the following in red the same as saying "We've experienced this before."

There are almost 200,000 apps in the App Store, so something must be going alright. The magazine apps will be far better in the end because they are written native. We've seen this movie before.

Is that a common idiom? I've never heard it (which of course doesn't mean it can't be common), but I haven't found it in any learner's dictionary either.

I haven't heard it either. It is idiomatic to say - in this sort of context - 'we've been here before'.
