The buses were surrounded by an angry crowd,which were already full.
Is the sentence right in grammar? Here 'which' refers to 'the buses' that is rather far in position.
 
No, it isn't right.

If you move the relative clause to a different place in the sentence, it'll be much better.
 
It says the crowd were full, which (a) isn't grammatical and (b) doesn't make sense.
