Hello,

Is it possible to remove the pronoun "she" in the following sentence and still have a grammatically correct sentence?

The original:

One day she was a poor art student, and the next she was rich

My version:

One day she was a poor art student, and the next was rich

Hello. (There's no need for a greeting in future. Just go ahead with your question.)

Is it possible to remove the pronoun "she" in the following sentence and still have a grammatically correct sentence?

The original:
One day she was a poor art student, and the next she was rich.

My version:
One day she was a poor art student, and the next was rich.
Please note my comments and added punctuation above.

No, your revised version does not work. However, it would be possible to remove both "she" and "was". With a slight pause after "next", it would be understandable. To clarify:
One day she was a poor art student; the next - rich!

The inclusion of "art student" is what makes it harder to adjust the sentence. It would be completely natural to use:
One day she was poor; the next - rich!
