I have as homework the following exercises, but I don't understand anything...
1. Rewrite the following sentences beginning with the words given:
a) Sham el Nessím is thought to have marked the start of the spring festival in ancient Egypt

b) Eating salted fish is known to have benn a custom of the ancient Egyptians
It is known...
e) It is reported that five thousand people joined in the festivities
Five thounsad people are reported...
2) Complete the second sentence so that it has similar meaning to the first sentence using the word given.
a) People believe that the festival originated in the 18th century (HAVE)
The festival ________________________ in the 18th century.
b) People expect that she will be choosen as carnival queen. ( BE)
She is ______________________________ as carnival queen.
