When talking about several ways to tackle high volume of traffic and mentioning the third way is it wrong to say "the third is a financial support for companies"? I mean should I use "the third is the financial support" not "a financial support"?

"Owning a car is more expensive than using public transport. The third is a/the financial support for companies."

You should use either "the" or no article. I would go with the latter option.

Please note that I've changed the title of at least three of your threads today. Please stop using just a couple of words in quotes followed by "in my sentence". That doesn't lead to titles that are unique. Please do as I have done on this one - use the entire sentence (or as much of it as will fit in the title box).

Do you mean "the" or no article here before "financial support" "The third is a/the financial support for companies"?

The third is financial support for companies.

The third is financial support for companies.

Is "the" required in other contexts before "support"?

"the second is the support of public transport."

No. When you use "support for", you don't need an article.

I used "support of". Ah, you meant it's not required in "support of". Right?

No. When you use "support for", you don't need an article.

If here "The third is financial support for companies" either "the" or no article works can either "the" or no article work here too "
"the second is the support of public transport"?

That entire post is ungrammatical and makes no sense.

Would adding "the" be wrong in this example before "support"?

"the second is the support of public transport"
