Do you say, "This meat cuts well" to mean "This meat is easy to cut" or "This meat doesn't cut easily" to mean "This meat isn't easy to cut"?
 
This meat cuts well. - doesn't sound correct if you use it to mean "cut easily". But it could work to mean "it cuts in neat symmetrical pieces".

This meat doesn't cut easily. - sounds all right.
