Failure is an opportunity to try something new. Pick yourself up and take a new road. Remember to be brave. Remember to be your best. And always remember that you have your family and friends to support you.

Remember to be your best.

I’d like to know if the word “self” is omitted after the word “best” in this sentence.

"Failure is an opportunity to try something new."

If it's any kind of opportunity it's an opportunity to learn from somebody's mistakes.

Yes. "Do your best" is good advice.

Is “be your best” a set phrase and is it used correctly in the context in the OP?

No. It's "Do your best" that could be considered a set phrase. (Somebody once wrote a brief poem that ends "Best is what you can't do better than." )

I take it to mean: Remember to be the best version of yourself.

It's an awful sentence. I consider it incorrect. At the very best, it's a terrible model, for the purposes of teaching English to learners.

That's right. "Be your best" isn't really a set phrase but it's used. It just means "Be the best version of yourself you can".

Cross-posted. I don't object to it as much as the others seem to. :)
