When we talk about our use of these forms of entertainment, we generally say the radio, the cinema (BrE), the theatre, but television or TV.
Practical English Usage fourth edition, entry 142.11

But the following sources have used the TV, which I think is incorrect:

We use see, not watch, when we talk about being at sports matches or public performances, such as films, theatre and dramas. However, we watch the television...At night, I like to watch the television.
English Grammar Today

Remember that we say watch TV/watch the television. Do not use see or look at for this.

I wonder what you think.

BrE uses all of the following:

- watch TV
- watch the TV
- watch television
- watch the television

I tend to use the simplest - "watch TV".
