1) If we are driving a car or riding a motorcycle and someone wants to take us over so do we say that "we give some room for them to pass by us"?

2) If we are standing between a narrow path and another person wants to pass but we are standing in there way so do we say "we give some room to them to pass us by"?


Please check both of these scenarios and Please correct my mistakes.

No. The most colloquial pattern is:

give someone space [to do something]

In most contexts, you can say 'room' instead of 'space'.

1. The word is "pass". One vehicle passes another one. No, we do not give them space. If there is not enough room to pass somebody you're not supposed to do it.

2. If you are indeed in somebody's way you can move aside to let them pass. (Most of that one doesn't make sense.)
