my friend received an e-mail from an English speaker, and it said "here can't stand looking at people's knees."
I know what "can't stand looking at" means, but why is he trying to look at people's knees?
He said he can't stand looking at people's knees. He doesn't want to look at them.

... but why is he trying to look at people's knee?
You (or your friend) will have to ask the author of the email that. We can't guess. Note, though, that the message doesn't suggest that he's trying to look at people's knees.

Thank you for your reply. We'll ask him. And I understood my reading was wrong.

He said he can't stand looking at people's knees. He doesn't want to look at them.
Thank you for your reply and the correction. It was so beneficial to me!
”He” doen't want to look at people, so he cast his eyes down?

No. As far as I can tell, he doesn't want to look at their knees --:not people in general. So he wouldn't look down. He'd be more likely to see them.
😊

Everyone, I got the answer of this mystery.
Ol' Mi-Ma is a character of the game "Oxygen Not Included".
She is a avatar called "Duplicant" that is tiny.
I have not play this game, but perhaps the sentence means she feels bad because she is tiny.
Not about some expression of idiom, but may be it is expression of the charactor in the world of the game.

It's not an expression or idiom, but maybe it is an expression of the character in the world of the game.
