Dear teachers

In the following sentence, is it redundant, or natural to use "will now be based"... "will" indicates future, "now" indicates the current period. Please advise.

"Holden will now be based in Beijing, according to a memo circulated among the company's staff member."

Cheers

Holden

To me, now suggests that this is a recent decision or move- it doesn't necessarily sound redundant.

No, it's not redundant at all. It is indicating a change. Before that. Now we will this.
