Unhappy Drawing Tree diagrams

Hi everyone,

Exactly, how do we draw the tree diagrams on phrase structures which are more complicated;involving noun clauses, and embedded prepositional phrases?

Thank you...

I'm guessing you are referring to: Phrase structure rules.

This link should help you:

Also, this article from Wikipedia explains the process more in depth--including adjectival phrases and prepositional phrases. Remember that this is recursive, so there is bound to be a place in the tree where you will revert to the basic NP (noun phrase) structure.

Good luck!

Well, I recommend you to read a book named Syntax by Andrew Carnie....There're some explicit rules in the book that tell you how to draw a tree diagram correctly. you can learn the rules step by step, and there are lots of examples there :)
If you want I can write you some of the important rules :)

Good Luck
